Each and every RideAlong driver candidate goes through a detailed screening to make sure their background and experiences make an exceptional (not just good!) fit for our service. We have a LOT of criteria they must meet before they make it to the next step.
Step 2:
Comprehensive background checks and follow-up
Background checks are essential to the process. We vet our drivers through a proprietary, in-depth process, including:
- Extensive reference checks and review of employment history
- Fingerprinting and FBI and DMV background checks using Department of Homeland Security standards and guidance
- Ongoing drug testing and follow up

Step 3:
Training which builds a track record of trust and safety
Our drivers don’t just look good on paper – they show us how amazing they are at their jobs every day. No driver is assigned to work until going through our rigorous training and field testing process, and many have experience working with children and communities. Many are caregivers, retired police officers and coaches, for example, and bring a unique warmth and personal sensitivity, as well as a smile, to their RideAlong day.
